Double Page Spread Presentation

Market Research

I produced my market research/questionnairre on microsoft word.Like most standard magazines, market research is key way of gaining an insight as to what editorial content should be included and to help me find out what was relevent to my target audience. Who they were interested in seeing in my magazine, as well as the most popular genre, age group, price my magazine should be. From this i then recorded my results in excel and used them to influence important decisions made during production.

Double Page Spread Mock Up

This is the mock up for my double page spread. I tried to include the standard conventions commonly used in double page in order to make mine appear as professional as possible. Thererefore I ensured I included a header, space for images, space for text, as well as space for pull quotes. I chose not to include text rapping so's not to deffer the readers attention away from the images but to look at the article as a whole. I inserted an image at the top of the left hand corner of the page, but chose to have the larger images across the top of the right hand side of the page, this contributes to the Z eye flow i aimed my magazine to have. My positioning of the pull quote was so that if the reader skimmed over the article it would immediatly draw their attention and then they may wish to continue reading further. Also it broke up the text and fluidity of my alignment, this was influenced by my double page spread research of the article 'Little Boots'.

Table Of Contents Mock Up

This allowed me to practice and play around with the layout of my contents page, including standard conventions such as the header then a listing of features and articles i'd include in my magazine. This to is very simple but i feel professional.

Front Cover Mock Up

This mock up is pretty vague and simple. However given more time i would insert boxes as to where i would include my barcode, price line and strap line. I did however give a few examples of where id place cover lines and kickers as well as my masthead.

Contents Page Draft

I did not feel this contents page best reflected the look and feel i was aiming to present through my magazine, i also did not think it look as professional as my current complete final table of contents.

Music Magazine (unfinished)

This was my original layout for my Hip-Hop and R&B magazine however i didnt feel it felt the necissary criterias critical in my specified genre, therefore i began production work again and produced my final piece.
